Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Edmonton, Canada is seeking a Fabrication Supervisor to oversee fabrication activities, ensuring schedules are met within budget.

You will direct the workforce, read blueprints, program machining equipment, and uphold safety standards across the plant. In this role, you will lead production planning, monitor KPI metrics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize productivity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a production/fabrication supervisor.
• Fabrication experience preferred.
• Rigging, fall arrest, forklift and scissor lift experience.
• Knowledge of AOHS and Employment Standards Code.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• First Aid skills/certificates are assets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate fabrication activities to meet schedules and budgets.
• Direct the fabrication workforce to achieve production goals.
• Read blueprints and program machining equipment to produce required parts.
• Ensure equipment maintenance, repairs and changeovers are properly executed.
• Coordinate and schedule department activities to ensure smooth production flow.
• Participate in safety meetings and enforce compliance with policies.
• Maintain clean, organized department workspaces.
• Assist with hiring and onboarding of new department staff.
