Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canada is seeking a Fabrication Supervisor to lead the fabrication team, ensure schedules are met, and manage production in a fast-paced environment. You will read blueprints, program machining equipment, and monitor KPIs while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a production, construction, or fabrication supervisor.
• Post secondary education in related field is asset.
• Fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with rigging, fall arrest, forklifts, and scissor lifts are assets.
• Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Training in Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing desirable.
• Knowledge of AOHS regulations and Employment Standards Code.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of fabrication to meet schedules.
• Direct workforce to achieve production goals within budget.
• Set and update production plans following master schedule.
• Monitor KPI performance and develop action plans for improvement.
• Read blueprints and program machining equipment for parts.
• Ensure equipment maintenance, repairs, and changeovers are executed properly.
• Assist with inventory requirements and reporting.
• Maintain safe and compliant operations per company policies.
