Job summary

NOV Nisku Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist (Night Shift) to join our team in Canada. The role emphasizes threading and precise machining, with night hours 10pm–6:30am on the SL-603 Mori machine.

Operators can be cross trained across multiple machines to support manufacturing performance. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, setting up CNC machines, inspecting parts, maintaining safety, and assisting training.

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year experience on setup and operation of CNC lathes and/or mills.
• Mori, Okuma, DMG Mori, Mazak or Weingartner experience preferred.
• Mill-turns, live tooling, 3 axis lathes, 5 axis mills.
• Insert selection, tooling recommendations and selection.
• G-Code, Siemens/Heidenhain/OS300 controls.
• Combined formal training and/or several years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to set up, perform first-off inspections and modify programs to optimize quality.
• Perform daily PM activities to maintain optimum machine performance.
• Experience operating two machines simultaneously in a lean cell.
• Strong math and measurement skills with extensive inspection tooling.
• Experience machining small batches of precision components in metals.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, diagrams, measurement tools and schematics to determine procedures.
• Perform precise measuring to ensure components meet tolerances and finishes.
• Set up and operate CNC machines to maximize material usage.
• Operate and handle materials and tools safely.
• Report safety issues; support health and environmental procedures.
• Assist with training of other employees.
• Keep the work area clean and wear safety equipment at all times.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
