Job summary

Argus is hiring multiple full-time CNC Machinists based in Nisku, AB, with day (Mon-Fri 7:15AM-4:00PM) and night (Mon-Thu 4:00PM-2:00AM) shifts. Reporting to Plant Supervisor, you will program, set up, operate CNC machines, read blueprints, and ensure production orders are completed on time.

You will interpret drawings, adjust programs for quality, and maintain tools and records in a safety-first, detail-focused environment. Join a growing, employee-owned team committed to precision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Journeyman Machinist ticket or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret production orders, part specs, material grades and drawings.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to guide machining processes.
  • Program, set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to meet specs.
  • Adjust programs during runs to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Manufacture parts from raw materials with precision.
  • Use measuring tools to ensure accuracy and compliance.

About The Opportunity

Argus is looking for multiple full-time CNC Machinists based in Nisku, AB, for both day and night schedules. Day shift is Monday - Friday, 7:15AM-4:00PM, and night shift is Monday - Thursday, from 4:00PM-2:00AM.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, this role operates CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured accurately and orders are completed on time.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting production orders, part specifications, material grades, and technical drawings
  • Reading and analyzing blueprints and schematics to guide machining processes
  • Programming, setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to meet customer specifications
  • Adjusting machine programs during production runs to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Manufacturing routine and complex parts from raw materials with precision
  • Using measuring tools, gauges, and controls to ensure product accuracy and compliance
  • Following work order instructions and understanding production sequences
  • Safely operating overhead cranes and pallet jacks to move materials and finished products
  • Planning and prioritizing workloads to meet production deadlines
  • Maintaining CNC machines and ensuring a clean and organized work area
  • Completing production documentation and routing finished products appropriately
  • Recording production data, including time, quantities, and operations in system terminals
About You

To qualify, you will need a minimum of 2+ years of CNC machining experience and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. A background in machine shop environments, particularly with lathe experience, will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Journeyman Machinist ticket (equivalent experience considered)
  • General knowledge of products and services within the oil and gas industry
  • Understanding of safe work practices, quality assurance standards, and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience operating measuring tools, gauges, and shop equipment
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and pallet jacks
