Job summary

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) invites applications for a Health Care Aide to support residents in Golden Links Lodge Nursing Department. The role focuses on ADLs, hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and comfort under supervision of the unit nurse.

Strong English communication, teamwork with an interdisciplinary group, and adherence to safety and confidentiality are essential. A Health Care Aide certificate or equivalent RN education completes eligibility; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide certificate required or completion of two years of accepted RN education.
• One year experience as Health Care Aide preferred; care-home experience preferred.
• Must be able to read/write/speak fluent English; confidentiality and professional conduct required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with activities of daily living per Care Plan.
• Provide hygiene, skin and dental care, meals, feeding support and hydration.
• Assist with transfers, mobility and safe patient handling.
• Monitor health status and report changes to the unit nurse.
• Maintain safety, infection control and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in resident admissions, transfers and discharge processes.
