Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority invites applications for a Health Care Aide role serving the Southern Health-Santé Sud region. The position requires a Health Care Aide certificate, BLS, and the ability to work in a diverse, high-demand health care environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate confidentiality, safety awareness, and the ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual French/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
• Knowledge of privacy laws (PHIA/FIPPA).
• Knowledge of WHMIS safety requirements.
• Knowledge of Violence Prevention Program (VPP) training.
• Knowledge of SCHIPP training and processes.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
• Ability to work in a team and seek assistance as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and in stressful environments.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
• Some programs require a Class 5 driver’s license.
