Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority invites applications for a Healthcare Aide (HCA) to support residents at Donwood in Winnipeg. The position is part-time (0.60 EFT) with evening shifts and ends March 2, 2027, aligned with the Donwood Resident Bill of Rights and resident-centered care.

The successful candidate will provide personal care, support nutrition and mobility, assist with elimination and participate in care planning, quality improvement and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Completion of recognized HCA Course is required.
• Mental and physical capabilities to meet the job demands.
• Skills to foster and maintain positive working relationships.
• Prior experience in long-term care an asset.
• Completion of C.A.U.S.E.S. training an asset.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle fluctuating workload and prioritize.
• Knowledge and familiarity with the German Mennonite culture and community an asset.
• Familiarity with long-term care an asset.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents to promote cleanliness and skin integrity.
• Assist residents with meeting nutritional needs and interact during meals.
• Assist residents with elimination of body wastes.
• Assist residents with ambulation and positioning.
• Support intellectual stimulation and communication.
• Participate in planning and evaluating resident care.
• Participate in quality improvement and risk management programs.
• Maintain competence and relevance to current practice.
