Job summary

Global Excel is seeking a Night Case Coordinator to support insured travelers worldwide by guiding them to appropriate care, explaining benefits, arranging payments, and coordinating safe returns.

You will work with our medical team and cross-functional partners, monitor cases, and communicate clearly in English and French. This role requires night shifts and strong empathy.

Qualifications

  • University degree/college diploma or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to diverse audiences.
  • Able to work independently or in a team with strong organizational skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and empathetic bedside manner.
  • Proficient with Windows and Excel; data-entry accuracy essential.
  • Experience interpreting medical terms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hospitalized and outpatient clients and update claim notes.
  • Explain medical benefits and coordinate payments for treatment.
  • Coordinate medical patient transfers to manage costs and safety.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strategize case handling.
  • Provide emotional support to families in difficult situations.
  • Review medical bills in English and liaise with providers worldwide.

Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? Are you driven to help those in need during emergency situations? If so, we want you to join our Case Management Team!

As a Night Case Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing support to insured travelers across the globe. You will give customers peace of mind by helping them find health care at the right time, the right place, and at the right cost. You will explain what medical benefits are covered by their insurance plan, arrange payment for treatment on behalf of patients, and assist them in returning home safely. Additionally, you will work closely with our medical team and other internal departments to create the best strategy to manage the case.

What does your typical day look like?

  • Monitor hospitalized and outpatient clients, update claim notes and keep record of decisions and cost to dates / reserves;
  • Set objectives to meet the needs of the client/insurer;
  • Provide accurate and complete information to identify solutions to customers, health care facility/provider, and insurance partner inquiries by utilizing appropriate insurance policies and reference material;
  • Work closely with teams within the department, from different sites and departments;
  • Provide emotional support to families in need to assist them in coping with a difficult situation;
  • Initiate and coordinate medical patient transfer to promote client safety and contain costs as well as vehicle returns when needed;
  • Identify solutions to customers, facilities/providers issues, inquiries by providing accurate, reliable, and complete program information;
  • Review medical bills written in English;
  • Contact healthcare professionals from around the world.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • University Degree/College Diploma;
  • Post-Secondary education or certificate/college diploma in medical terminology or real world equivalent practical experience (preferred but not required);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate medical terms/concepts to diverse groups, including medical professionals and the general public;
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills - patient, calm, empathetic and controlled demeanor;
  • Computer skills (Windows, Excel, data entry);
  • Good understanding of world geography and current events;
  • Able to multitask and handle fluctuating work volumes in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment;
  • Able to work night shift as required;
  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate well in English and French, both written and spoken. English is used daily, particularly to analyze medical bills from various suppliers located mostly outside Quebec and to contact healthcare professionals from around the world.
