Job summary

Covenant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join Unit 32 - Neonatal Intensive Care at Grey Nuns Community Hospital in southeast Edmonton. This 0.42 FTE role supports NICU care, including monitoring, medication administration, and discharge planning.

The RN must be a graduate of an RN program, with active CRNA registration in Alberta, and BLS/HCP Level C current. Experience in Level 2/3 NICU is preferred and the role follows UNA collective agreement terms.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required.
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of CRNA Medication Administration and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources certifications is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in nursing assessments and interventions, care planning, implementing prescribed treatments, administering medications, evaluating treatments, and monitoring/documenting progress.
• Acts as advocate, coordinator and liaison for patient/resident, identifying needs and setting priorities with the multidisciplinary team.
• Facilitates patient/resident and family education and discharge planning, may act in a charge nurse capacity.
• Provides care in accordance with Covenant Health standards and policies.
• Be part of a team that delivers care in the NICU setting.
• Supports families during challenging moments in alignment with Covenant Health values.
