Job description

One of our esteemed clients, an Automotive Manufacturing company in Alliston, is looking to fill 1 position for a New Model Quality Representative.

As a New Model Quality Rep Associate, you will be responsible for New Model parts development and resolving development quality issues. You will leverage your problem-solving skills and knowledge of quality tools to quickly determine if an out-of-spec part condition exists and to implement appropriate countermeasures and containment actions with suppliers or other company departments. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with a diverse supplier base. This position requires adaptability to changing demands and priorities, so the ability to juggle multiple projects, handle stress, and stay organized is crucial. Responsibilities
  • Develop new model parts
  • Support problem-solving for new models involving manufacturing, design, and supply chain
  • Follow up and investigate GDP / RPU
  • Investigate purchasing CBU issues, C/Ms, and repairs
  • Manage supplier relationships using NARS (North American Reporting System)
  • Support outflow prevention for parts or CBUs, including initial containment, yard/in-house checks, inspections, and repairs
  • Understand client's CBU production and automotive manufacturing methods
  • Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple demands
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Experience with measurement tools
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Support trials at suppliers or for new tooling, equipment, and process maturation
  • Assist with new model launches at suppliers or in manufacturing
  • Communicate quality issues and related activities internally and externally
Requirements
  • Post-secondary engineering degree, technical diploma, or relevant work experience (minimum 18 months)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Job-Related Must-Haves
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice
  • Willing to work overtime, including weekends, on short notice
  • Flexible shift work, including support for 2nd shift
  • Valid G driver's license
Preferred Experience
  • Participation in REACH programs (e.g., Kaizen, Hawk Eye, Safety submissions)
  • Project management experience in automotive
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills (e.g., Why/Why, 5P, Decision Analysis)
Additional Skills
  • Experience with New Model Quality tools like PQCT, FMEA, MQS/PAC-V
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD data (e.g., Catia)
  • Ability to analyze part problems, identify root causes, and negotiate C/Ms with suppliers or departments
  • Knowledge of CBU production and automotive manufacturing methods
