Job summary

Hatch in Saskatoon is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineer-in-Training, New Graduate. Reporting to the Mechanical/Piping Discipline Lead, you will support projects globally from our Saskatoon office, with potential opportunities to work in other Hatch offices and at project sites.

The role emphasizes practical solutions, safety, mentorship, and professional development, including programs to obtain your designation. A ME degree is required and occasional travel may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Must be working towards graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Experience or coursework in mechanical design, thermodynamics or fluid mechanics is valued.
  • Internships or co-ops in Mechanical or Piping engineering are assets.
  • Familiarity with engineering software listed above is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to perform calculations for mechanical equipment and piping design.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to share results.
  • Prepare equipment specification packages and piping calculation reports.
  • Become knowledgeable of mechanical equipment, software and workflows.
  • Participate in safety trainings and site inductions.
  • Provide field verification and support during construction.
  • Travel and work at other Hatch offices or project sites as opportunities arise.
