Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. is seeking a motivated recent graduate to join our fire protection engineering team across Canada, including Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver. The Odyssey Program offers hands-on experience in fire protection design, life safety systems testing, and code consulting under senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate (or graduating in 2027) in Engineering (Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical) or a Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
• Strong academic background with coursework, capstone projects, or related studies in fire protection engineering, fire dynamics, life safety, or code analysis.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, analysis, and evaluation of fire protection systems (alarms and suppression).
• Design fire protection and sprinkler systems; perform risk assessments for code compliance.
• Participate in integrated life safety systems testing and documentation.
• Conduct fire/building code research (NBCC, NFCC, provincial codes, NFPA, CSA) to support reviews.
• Prepare technical reports, design briefs, system specifications, and compliance docs.
• Collaborate with architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical disciplines to integrate fire protection requirements.
• Support site visits, inspections, commissioning, and client meetings to gain practical experience.
