AtkinsRéalis in Canada is launching the Odyssey Program for recent graduates, offering hands-on fire protection design experience, mentorship, and exposure to diverse projects across industrial, infrastructure, transportation, and institutional sectors.

Locations include Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver. You will work under senior engineers on fire protection and life-safety systems, develop technical reports, and gain practical project experience within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifikationen

• Recent graduate (or graduating in 2027) with an engineering degree in fire protection or related field.
• Strong academic background in fire protection topics and life-safety systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of fire protection systems, including fire alarm and fire suppression systems.
• Design of fire protection and sprinkler systems, risk assessment and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Participate in Integrated Life Safety Systems Testing activities, documentation, and deficiency tracking.
• Conduct fire and building code research (NBCC, NFCC, provincial codes, NFPA, ULC, CSA) to support code compliance reviews and alternative solutions.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, design briefs, system specifications, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines to integrate fire protection requirements into coordinated designs.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, commissioning activities, and client meetings to gain practical project experience.
• Support engineering calculations, design development, and technical deliverables under the supervision of senior team members.

The Engineering Services Division is seeking a motivated new graduate to support fire suppression, fire alarm, integrated life safety systems, and code consulting projects across Canada. Our group delivers fire protection engineering services for complex facilities, including industrial, infrastructure, transportation, commercial, and institutional projects. This opportunity provides hands‑on experience in fire protection design, integrated systems testing, and code consulting while working alongside experienced fire protection engineers and specialists. The role is ideally suited for recent graduates seeking to build a strong technical foundation in fire protection engineering and life safety systems within a multidisciplinary consulting environment.

Your role

Under the guidance of senior fire protection staff, you will:

• Assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of fire protection systems, including fire alarm and fire suppression systems.

About you

• Recent graduate (or graduating in 2027) with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or a closely related discipline) or a Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology.
• Strong academic background with coursework, capstone projects, research, or technical studies related to fire protection engineering, fire dynamics, fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, life safety systems, building code analysis, risk assessment, or fire safety engineering.
• Excellent communication,teamworkand problem-solving skills
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $61,900 - $80,000annually) Base salaries aredeterminedaccording to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are alsotaken into accountin our offers.
