Network Support Technician
Location: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario

We are seeking a talented Network Support Technician to join our Information Technology team. This position will assist in further developing our IT infrastructure by developing & leading progressive hardware and software implementations.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local network operations and remote locations.
- Setup, configure and install new workstations, servers, and other equipment (i.e. barcode scanners, receipt printers, etc.)
- Provide technical support and training to end-users
- Evaluate and manage software updates and licensing on computer workstations and servers.
- Enforce and implement data, software and hardware security policies and procedures
- Perform and verify data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Schedule, manage, and recommend software and hardware improvements and upgrades
- Document and maintain accurate representations of the network environment and infrastructure
- Ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems, including Servers, Anti-Virus/Spyware Protection, Data Security/Backups, and Email (99.7% average uptime over 5 years)
- Handle annual capital budget / operating requirements and ensure cost effectiveness
- Plan, organize, evaluate, and rollout Infrastructure upgrades and changes
- Manage / Support IT Helpdesk
- Support and maintain corporate Active Directory and related technologies including group policy
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to IT
- Create and Manage SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) documents related to all use of company Hardware/Software
- Oversee the IT set-up of new hires and equipment return for employee departures
- Plan, organize and execute infrastructure upgrades and changes
- Administer SQL management studio (backups, queries etc)
Education and Experience
- A diploma or degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or work experience
- 5+ years of directly related experience working with computer and network systems
- Technical certifications in IT Networking (CCNA, CCENT etc.) considered an asset
Technologies Experience with the following would be an asset:
- Windows 10/11 Pro
- Windows 2019 Servers (Application Servers, Web Servers, Database Servers)
- SQL Management Studio
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
- ERP (Epicor BisTrack)
