Network Solutions and Security Architect

This position is:

On-site - working all 5 days per week in the Office

As a member of the Network Solutions and Security Architecture group, the Architect develops solutions to meet business and operational connectivity and security needs. This involves communicating requirements to teams responsible for infrastructure, network connectivity, and security policies. The role is highly technical and project-driven, ensuring the deployment and operation of secure, stable systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate with various business groups (Carrier Networks, Security, Mobility, etc.), creating design documentation and detailed 'build tickets' for implementation teams.

The ideal candidate is strategic, analytical, motivated, and focused, with a strong commitment to integrating security into system design.

Responsibilities:

• Experience as a network administrator with Cisco, Juniper, or both (preferred).
• Experience with network security, including firewall administration with Juniper and Palo Alto Networks (preferred).
• Experience in network design and architecture at large scales.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with teams, define project scope, gather requirements, and identify dependencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop solution options and analyze approaches.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SSH tools.
• Advanced networking and security knowledge.
• IP addressing (subnets, supernets).
• Layer 2 switching (VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree, etc.).
• Data center Ethernet fabrics like Virtual Chassis and Multi Chassis LAG.
• Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, static routing). Experience with ISIS is a plus.
• Data center fabrics like VXLAN/EVPN.
• Security technologies such as Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, PKI.
• Security architecture concepts including Zones, 3-Tier, Zero Trust, North-South/East-West traffic, perimeter and interior firewalling.

Preferred assets include:

• MPLS (mBGP, LDP, SR, VRF).
• VMware environment and NSX firewall.
• Windows and *nix OSs.
• Containers.
• IT automation tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, PowerShell, Orchestration.
• Juniper Apstra, HP NNM (Openview), Splunk, Arbor, SIEM.
• Fundamental security concepts: Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability.
