Network Architect - Burnaby, Canada

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Network Services, the Network Architect will lead the conceptual, logical, and physical network architecture and strategy for IMIS across Vancouver Coastal Health / Providence Health Care (VCH / PHC). The role involves providing leadership to network services staff across multiple sites, developing network solutions supporting clinical and corporate operations, and ensuring alignment with enterprise policies and goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee network architecture, standards, and planning for emerging technologies supporting VCH / PHC.
• Develop and document procedures and guidelines for network infrastructure.
• Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for system improvement.
• Lead and mentor network staff, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
• Align network strategies with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
• Participate in budget development and project planning.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related field, with 7-10 years of experience in large, complex network environments.
• Minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification highly desirable.
• Expertise in high-availability network design, Cisco technologies, LAN/WAN, data centers, security, and troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Additional Assets

Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and related legislative frameworks is a strong asset.
