We are looking for a Network Analyst for a long-term contract position starting with 9 months in Regina, Saskatchewan. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Position is available as on-site location, Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm. Must be able to travel outside Regina, Saskatchewan, including occasional overnight stays as required. Must be able to work on-call on a rotational basis in 1-week intervals. Must be able to attend an in-person interview, if shortlisted.
Role Description
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the operational administrationand implementation of the LAN/WAN infrastructure, which is vital for supporting bothcorporate and SCADA networks. The candidate will collaborate with the team to ensure networkinfrastructure is configured and implemented according to the latest industry and security best practices.
This position requires a professional with a minimum of five years of recent, hands-on experience in network administration, analysis, and design/architecture. The role is not only focused on day-to-day operational network administration but also significantly contributes to the ongoing enhancement, architectural design, planning, and implementation initiatives within the Company network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation, complete with thorough documentation
- Develop strategic plans for network device evolution, aligning with both current and future business needs and industry benchmarks
- Provide expert-level technical support, administration, and engineering for all the Company network devices to guarantee their optimal performance
- Monitor and optimize network performance, swiftly troubleshoot and resolve any system issues to ensure high availability and reliability
- Manage network disaster recovery processes, including meticulous planning, implementation, maintenance, and comprehensive testing
- Engage with corporate and field employees, promptly addressing technological concerns and escalating complex issues as needed
- Implement network equipment updates in accordance with established company protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality
- Maintain system integrity through effective change control, problem management procedures, and consistent communication with internal stakeholders
- Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies, certifications, and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise and adaptability
- Contribute to departmental goals by organizing and overseeing work processes and fostering effective teamwork
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the execution of role responsibilities
- Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and expertise to drive collective success
- Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions
- Represent Digital Technology & Security with a commitment to the department's strategic goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Must have minimum 5 years recent and practical network administration experience and design/ architecture experience
- Must have a valid class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License or equivalent
- Demonstrated expertise Spine and Lead data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and maintain various routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF.
- Comprehensive hands-on experience with Cisco’s suite of networking equipment, including switches, routers.
- Fortinet Proficiency: Expertise in managing next-generation firewalls, with comprehensive knowledge of Fortinet’s entire suite of security solutions. Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet’s suite of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches and access points.
- Comprehensive hands-on experience with Fortinet security tools including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiNAC.
- Demonstrated experience in configuring and maintaining network resources in Microsoft Azure including virtual networks, virtual networking peering, route tables, Front Door, WAF and network security groups.
- Additional expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Skilled in the configuration and management of load balancers and web application firewalls.
- A deep understanding and implementation of network security best practices.
- A proven track record of deploying network technologies within organizational technology projects.
- Excellent collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- A thorough understanding of enterprise – level networks and the integration of on-premises and cloud environments.
- Additional experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies.
- Experience with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes
- Relevant experience in operating supervisory controls and data acquisition (SCADA) networks
