Job summary

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled Network Administrator (Permanent, Full-Time) to join our IT team. You will maintain and secure the city’s network infrastructure, monitor performance, and implement upgrades in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include a Computer Science/Engineering degree or diploma with extensive IT and networking experience, CCNA or equivalent, a valid BC driver’s license, and hands-on firewall and Cisco equipment experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or an equivalent degree.
• OR
• Completion of a diploma in Computer Science or Computer Systems and a minimum eight years’ experience working in Information Technology and two years’ experience working in a full time Networking role or equivalent (for a total of ten years’ experience).

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and apply upgrades and patches.
• Collaborate with IT Division to design and deploy network solutions.

Education

Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering / Diploma with 10 years IT experience

Cisco CCNA certification
