Job Description

ADGA is hiring a Network Administrator to assist the Army Network Operation Centre (NOC) personnel with the planning function of a NOC. This role ensures future expansions, enhancements, and capabilities development of the program are aligned with the current and future operational requirements of the Canadian Army.

This includes:

  • System Architecture Management: Conduct audits on current system architecture, make recommendations on overall architecture, resource allocation, and configuration based on Canadian Army operational requirements. Collaborate with Canadian Army G6 NetOps, DDACSI, DLCSPM, and support the option analysis, planning, and execution of the next-generation LC4ISR system architecture to meet future operational and interoperability needs within lifecycle constraints.
  • Network Architecture Management: Conduct audits on current network architecture, provide recommendations, and assist in planning and executing the next-generation LC4ISR system architecture to support future operational and allied interoperability requirements, working closely with CAF entities.
  • Security Architecture Management: Conduct audits on current security architecture, recommend improvements, and assist in planning and execution to reflect future operational needs and interoperability, ensuring alignment with lifecycle constraints.

Qualifications

  • A STEM diploma (minimum 2 years) in networking, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a related engineering or technical field.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience (within the last 10 years) in:
    • Planning, managing, and implementing network architectures
    • Windows Server administration (2003 or higher)
    • Managing TCP/IP, network file systems, and name servers
    • Microsoft Exchange Server administration
    • SQL Server and SMS Server administration
    • Developing and implementing network policies and procedures
    • Managing network personnel and security
    • Internet services management (web servers, FTP, etc.)
    • Gateway, bridge, and router management
    • System security and management connected to the Internet
  • At least 4 years of recent experience (within the last 10 years) in preparing technical documents, system specifications, and proposals in IT, information management, or engineering fields.
  • At least 48 months of recent experience in:
    • Drafting presentations and briefings on network status and issues
    • Providing technical advice and guidance for decision-making
    • Participating in multidisciplinary teams supporting IT systems or enterprise networks
