Job summary

St. Joseph's Health System is seeking a registered nurse with nephrology experience to provide patient-centered care across a range of nephrology services.

The role emphasizes leadership within the inter-professional team and coverage across dialysis-related procedures. The successful candidate will have current nursing registration in Ontario, BCLS/HCP certification, and strong communication skills to support complex patient needs within a high-acuity unit.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
• Previous general medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Experience in nephrology, urology, peritoneal or hemodialysis or transplant nursing preferred.
• Central line management is an asset.
• Telemetry training preferred.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and care of seniors and families.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Commitment to professional development and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered, evidence-informed care and lead in a full range of nephrology-related treatments.
• Collaborate with the inter-professional team to manage high-acuity and complex cases.
• Deliver care across preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation modalities.
• Be cross-trained to cover the Renal Transplant Unit as needed and rotate shifts accordingly.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teaching skills with patients and families.
