Job summary

BMO's Real Estate Financing team within the Canadian Commercial Banking division seeks a senior credit professional to analyze credit information, structure complex real estate loans, and support cross‑selling for a portfolio of clients in Ottawa.

You will monitor portfolio health, assess risks, sign off on loans, and present recommendations to drive growth while upholding risk policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
• If a Credit Qualifiable job, Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
• Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge.
• Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.

Responsibilities

• Leads complex proposal development and delivers presentations to acquire clients or win business.
• Analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions.
• Signs off on new, renewal and extension loans in alignment with credit qualifications.
• Conducts portfolio monitoring and performance analysis including covenant compliance and client industry trends.
• Leads development and implementation of advanced capital allocation strategies to optimize investment returns.
• Oversees financial and risk analysis to make informed credit-granting decisions and assessments of portfolio health.
• Builds and maintains a portfolio of strong relationships ensuring superior client experience and drives financial performance.
• Advises on strategic business priorities, resource allocation, and change initiatives across commercial banking functions.
