The Position

National Conference Strategy Partner and Meeting Planner

This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Meeting and Conference Planning Lead, encompasses the dual function of a strategic National Conference visionary and a meticulous event execution specialist. The individual will spearhead the National Conference Core Team, architecting and implementing the overarching strategic direction that will define the conference's success. Simultaneously, the role demands active, hands-on involvement in the detailed planning and execution of all associated events.

The primary objective is to translate and materialize the envisioned National Conference goals while flawlessly delivering all Roche meetings and events. In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Cultivating Robust Partnerships: Establishing and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse array of both internal and external stakeholders. This includes fostering open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. By leveraging these partnerships, the National Conference Strategy Partner and Meeting Planner will ensure the provision of best-in-class meeting and conference planning services, surpassing expectations and solidifying Roche's reputation for impeccable event execution.

  • Enhancing Stakeholder Experiences: Acting as a crucial support system for all involved teams, striving to create an environment that optimizes the client and stakeholder experience. This involves anticipating needs, addressing concerns promptly and effectively, and ensuring that every interaction with a Roche event is seamless, engaging, and impactful.

  • Providing Comprehensive Event Management: Delivering a full spectrum of event management services, encompassing everything from initial concept development to post-event evaluation. This allows clients and internal teams to remain focused on their core responsibilities, secure in the knowledge that every logistical detail is being expertly handled.

The opportunity

  • Lead strategic planning and stakeholder collaboration for the National Conference, defining vision, themes, and objectives.

  • Develop and manage event content and messaging, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and brand.

  • Coordinate stakeholders and speakers, securing high-profile participants and facilitating communication.

  • Create engagement strategies to enhance employee participation and gather attendee feedback for future events.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure event success and drive continuous improvement.

  • Manage project and budget for meetings, including vendor liaison, contract negotiation, and logistical coordination.

  • Provide on-site support for priority meetings and ensure adherence to corporate compliance and guidelines.

  • Review financial details, including event bills, and maintain comprehensive records for all event aspects

Who you are

  • You hold a College or Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or relevant experience

  • You have 5+ years of experience in the Pharma industry

  • You understand IT applications and their use in planning or running meetings, consultant meetings or conferences

  • You demonstrate experience in collaborating across functions, including senior management, and networking locally and globally

  • You excel at adapting quickly to changes in the environment with minimal disruption to the people or the business

  • You demonstrate strength in Project Management, time management and prioritization skills

  • You have strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills

  • You possess strong business acumen; have working knowledge of the multidisciplinary functions involved in a pharmaceutical company, e.g. customer engagement, marketing, regulatory, compliance, etc.

  • You demonstrate the ability to prioritize customer focus to drive a superior customer experience
