Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Foodservice & USA Sales, the National Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve annual volume targets across both Value Added and Commodity product categories with key foodservice distributors. This role is critical in driving profitable growth through both existing partnerships and new business development.
NAM will work closely with distributor partners and foodservice operators to maximize sales opportunities, build strong relationships, and deliver value through innovative solutions and exceptional service.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop annual business plans aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, outlining key initiatives, resource allocation, performance targets, and timelines to ensure effective execution and measurable outcomes.
- Drive profitable volume growth in both Sofina branded and distributor branded products, focusing on integrated strategies that address brand positioning, operational efficiency, customer collaboration, and market dynamics.
- Develop and oversee national execution plans for Sofina’s Regional Account Manager team, aligning with strategic product categories and key foodservice distributor partnerships to drive growth and market penetration.
- Identify and develop strategic plans for creating new product category opportunities for Sofina Foods (either under Sofina brands or distributors brands), following a structured approach, covering market trends, competitive analysis, and innovation pathways.
- Identify critical regional accounts and develop actionable strategies to secure and grow volume.
- Develop and deliver business reviews and strategic proposals by leveraging in-depth sales insights to drive growth and retention across foodservice distributors and targeted operator accounts.
- Establish, monitor, and optimize the sales and marketing budget allocated to distributors to ensure alignment with business objectives, maximize ROI, and drive sustainable growth.
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key decision-makers to drive business growth and enhance collaboration.
- Develop and present monthly business status reports to senior sales and marketing teams.
- Effectively manage all distributor price files, rebate programs, and temporary allowance initiatives.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education – Preferably in Business or Marketing
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in foodservice sales, preferably with National Distributor Sales and/or National Account Management experience.
- The ideal candidate is a high-energy leader who is results-driven, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Understands & practices “solution selling.”
- Strong understanding of leading foodservice distributors’ leadership structures and relationships with key decision makers.
- Strong people skills, business writing & presentation skills.
- This role will require travel across North America.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Understanding or experience in the protein industry is considered an asset.
- Understanding of category management and experience with brand management is an asset.
