Job summary

The Account Manager owns assignedcustomer accounts from request intake, quoting support, and opportunityfollow-up through project coordination and closeout. The role is responsiblefor maintaining customer trust, documenting requirements, coordinating internalhandoffs, supporting profitable repeat business, and ensuring commitments arecaptured, communicated, followed through, and closed.

At JD Sign Group, this role combinescustomer service, consultative sales support, signage and projectunderstanding, CRM discipline, and coordination with estimating, design,permits, production, installation, shipping, finance, and project delivery. Theposition is an Account Manager-level role for an assigned existing client baseand standard-complexity work. Major pricing decisions, strategic accountcommitments, unusual risk items, and senior customer escalations requiremanager or leadership approval.

Key Responsibilities
1. Account Ownership and Customer Experience
  • Act as the primary day-to-daycontact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Confirm and document customerrequirements, project scope, due dates, schedules, site information, approvals,assumptions, and expectations.
  • Provide clear, accurate, andtimely customer updates throughout active work.
  • Manage customer expectations byclosing open loops and escalating issues early when progress is at risk.
  • Track customer requests,complaints, and outstanding issues through closure in the CRM or approvedworkflow system.
2. Account Retention, Growth, and Opportunity Follow-Up
  • Identify repeat business andorganic growth opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Qualify customer needs,decision-makers, timing, budget considerations, project complexity, and nextsteps.
  • Coordinate with estimating,design, and leadership to prepare proposals, revisions, and consultativeoptions.
  • Maintain accurate pipelinerecords, including opportunity value, stage, probability, target close date,next step, and owner.
3. Scope Intake, Estimate Readiness, and CommercialDiscipline
  • Use a structured intakechecklist before requesting estimates or moving work forward.
  • Confirm scope, dimensions,drawings, photos or survey requirements, site conditions, landlordrequirements, permit assumptions, installation constraints, shippingexpectations, exclusions, deadlines, and pricing risks.
  • Ensure customer approvals,revisions, assumptions, and exclusions are documented before work proceeds.
  • Identify commercial risksearly, including unclear scope, missing approvals, out-of-scope work, rusheddeadlines, permit constraints, installation or access issues, andmargin-sensitive changes.
4. Sold Job Handoff and Workflow Coordination
  • Complete and own the sold-jobhandoff package for assigned accounts.
  • Ensure critical projectinformation is transferred accurately to internal teams before each workflowstage.
  • Coordinate with estimating,design, permits, production, installation, shipping, finance, and projectdelivery to keep work aligned with approved scope and timelines.
  • Track blockers, communicateownership of next actions, and follow up until resolution.
5. Communication, Escalation, and Closeout
  • Use concise, action-orientedcommunication that identifies the decision required, action owner, due date, next step, and escalation need.
  • Communicate confirmedschedules, changes, delays, required customer inputs, internal blockers, andproject risks clearly and promptly.
  • Escalate stalled progress withfacts, options, proposed action, and required decision.
  • Confirm closeout requirements,including installation confirmation, deficiencies, final photos, customeracceptance, unresolved issues, and invoice readiness where applicable.

PERFORMANCE METRICS

Achievement of national sales and revenue targets.

Growth, retention, and expansion of key accounts.

Pipeline strength and conversion rates.

Client satisfaction and repeat business.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office-based in Cambridge with flexibility for national travel as required.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, construction, design, or related field (preferred).

Master's degree in a related field (preferred).

Professional certifications (preferred).

Experience

5+ years of B2B sales experience, including management of large or national accounts.

Minimum 1+ year in signage, graphics, display, or related industries (preferred).

Proven success selling to senior-level stakeholders (Directors/VPs).

Experience supporting national or multi-location rollouts is an asset.

Preferred Industry Experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $60,000 – $80,000 CAD, plus bonus performance-based
