Job summary

ROM seeks an experienced Senior Assistant Manager, Retail Sales & Operations, to lead the Museum Store, deliver outstanding guest experiences, and manage daily on-site operations in Toronto.

You will coach front-line staff, oversee merchandising, scheduling, POS and cash handling, and partner with the Senior Manager to drive revenue growth while upholding ROM’s brand and visitor-first culture.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year of retail supervisory experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and develop front-line staff.
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.
• English strong; French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Museum Store operations and customer experiences.
• Coach and support a team of Retail Store Sales Representatives.
• Execute merchandising strategies and promotional programs.
• Manage opening/closing procedures, cash handling, POS approvals, scheduling.
• Monitor presentation, inventory flow, and product availability.
• Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with security and facilities.
• Use sales metrics to identify improvements and drive efficiency.
• Promote ROM exhibitions, memberships, and brand on the floor.
