Job summary

The City of Mississauga seeks a Museum Interpreter to lead educational programs for school groups and the general public at Bradley Museum. You will help develop compelling content and provide guided tours of historic houses during public hours, events, and private bookings.

Qualifications

• Experience leading educational programming for diverse audiences.
• Experience supporting development and delivery of special events.
• Post-secondary education in History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, Education or related field.
• Knowledge of Mississauga history and cash-handling experience.
• First Aid with CPR B or C and Healthy Child Development certification is required.
• G-class driver's license and access to a vehicle.

• They’re appointed at this post to assist with the execution of special events, including event set up and tear down, leading on-site activities, providing parking support and traffic direction, and assisting event organizers.
• People who applied for this post are also required to operate a point-of-sale terminal and follow cash handling procedures for admissions and donations working at this post.
• They’re appointed at this post to follow the schedule of cleaning and upkeep of historic house interiors.
• People applying for this post are also required to perform research and gather information about the organization.

Job requirement

• Candidates must attain experience leading educational programming for children and adults.
• People must have experience in supporting the development and delivery of special events to be eligible for this post.
• People must have completed or be enrolled in a post-secondary education program in History, Archaeology, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, Education or related fields.
• Candidates must know historical information related to Mississauga and must have cash-handling experience to be eligible for this post.
• People must have emergency or standard First Aid with CPR B or C certification along with a high Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certification to be eligible for this post.
