Job summary

The Town of Ajax is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Manager of Procurement in delivering high-value goods and services through best-practice procurement. The role focuses on analyzing requirements, issuing non-proprietary bids, and driving compliant, cost-effective outcomes.

You will lead end-to-end procurements, advise on strategies, manage eBid activities, and ensure contract and vendor management aligns with bylaws. Hybrid work is possible; apply by the stated deadline.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-year post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration.
• CPPB, NIGP-CPP, or CSCMP certification in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, public sector preferred.
• Experience tendering construction projects is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of procurement laws and bid documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end competitive procurement and prepare award recommendations.
• Advise departments on bid strategies and develop bid packages.
• Manage eBid processes, respond to inquiries, and issue addenda.
• Evaluate bid Submissions for compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain vendor records and contract pricing in JD Edwards.
• Support purchase orders and system troubleshooting for clients.
