Job summary

The City of Owen Sound is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to implement, maintain, secure, and support the City’s voice and data networks, servers, and IT infrastructure. This leave-of-absence replacement role reports to the Manager of Information Technology and focuses on reliable, secure operations across municipal services.

Responsibilities include managing network infrastructure, Windows Server and AD, Azure AD, DNS/DHCP, Exchange, SQL Server, 365, and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year College Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
• Industry certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, VCP, A+, Network+, or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a network administration or related technology role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server technologies, AD, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and SQL Server.
• Experience supporting network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, wireless networks, and VoIP systems.
• Knowledge of VMware and virtual server technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the City’s network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP).
• Support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies.
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 and related applications.
• Monitor network performance and implement improvements for reliability.
