Job summary

The Town of Smithers is seeking a Manager of Engineering to lead municipal engineering staff and collaborate with consultants, contractors and partners to deliver capital projects and steward municipal assets. This 35-hour-per-week position offers a competitive salary of $91,890 to $102,100 CAD commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Education in Civil or Municipal Engineering or a related field.
• Certification with a related professional association such as Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia or ASET BC (preferred).
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in municipal engineering, infrastructure planning, or asset management.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering staff and collaborate with consultants, contractors, and community partners on capital projects.
• Steward municipal assets and contribute to a resilient, sustainable future.
• Support and supervise project management and asset management initiatives.
