Job summary

Carrier Sekani Family Services in Vanderhoof or Fraser Lake is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support a diverse primary care team across multiple sites. You will maintain MOIS records, coordinate appointments, assist with face-to-face and telehealth schedules, and help with point-of-care activities to enable proactive care.

This role requires a Medical Office Assistant or Office Administration certificate, with two years’ medical office experience or an equivalent combination of education

Qualifications

• Medical Office Assistant certificate
• Office administration certificate, plus two years’ experience in a medical office; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

• Maintain/update records in the MOIS system complying with privacy laws for confidential medical information.
• Maintain communications and liaise with CSFS member communities, offices and health center staff.
• Schedule patient appointments and assist the primary care team and professional staff in managing face to face, telehealth schedules and client activity.
• Assist with point of care measuring and specimen testing, processing or transporting.
• Assist the physician or NP by having a well-prepared patient, treatment room and helping to provide proactive care.
