Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a General Help in Canteen Services at a Correctional Center. You will perform duties in meal preparation, distribution, and packaged orders to service units, along with sanitation and cleaning tasks. You must have weekday availability (Mon-Wed), a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and the ability to work independently on time-sensitive tasks. Strong English communication and physical fitness are required; experience with Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Must pass and maintain a clean criminal record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal.
• Physical ability to perform all job-related tasks.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute meals and packaged orders for service units.
• Perform weekly inventory and process orders in Excel.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables; prepare, cook or pan food.
• Package orders accurately and load service carts to pods.
• Maintain clean storage and equipment; operate food service equipment safely.
• Work in multiple departments with various skills and time-sensitive tasks.
• Follow food safety procedures and complete off-service tasks as required.
