Job summary

MUIR Hotel in downtown Halifax is seeking a Guest Floor Attendant to join our Five Star Luxury collection. You will keep public areas pristine, assist with guest deliveries, and help create a personalized guest experience while upholding our high service standards.

Shifts vary and include days, evenings, holidays and weekends. A Nova Scotia driver’s license and clean abstract are required; prior hospitality experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods.
• Able to anticipate guest needs and deliver professional, welcoming service.
• Motivated, high performance team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Drive laundry cube truck to and from off-site laundry facility.
• Clean all assigned public areas to the Muir standard.
• Support Room Attendants with pantry setup and guest deliveries.
• Take initiative to add a personalized experience for the guest.
• Anticipate guest needs, being professional and welcoming.
• Protect guests’ privacy and belongings while delivering exceptional service.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Valid Nova Scotia drivers’ license and clean drivers abstract a must for this position.
Shifts: Vary in their start and end time and can change due to the needs of our guests. A mixture of days, evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts.

What you will be doing as a Guest Floor Attendant:

• Drive laundry cube truck to and from off-site laundry facility;
• Clean all assigned public area to the Muir standard;
• Support Room Attendants with pantry set up and all guest deliveries;
• Take initiative to add a personalized experience for the guest;
• Anticipate guest needs, being professional and welcoming;
• Take ownership of guests’ privacy and belongings, while ensuring exceptional service;
• Such other related duties and responsibilities as may be required from time to time.

Your experience and skills include:

• A motivated, high performance team player;
• Ability to anticipate guest needs, being professional and welcoming;
• Organized with great attention to detail;
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Must be able to make repeated and continued movements of the shoulders, elbows, and hands (below waist and overhead movement);
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
