Job summary

Unity Health Toronto seeks an experienced MRI Technologist to perform routine and complex MR exams following CM RITO standards and hospital policies. You will ensure patient safety, accuracy of imaging, and effective communication with care teams across neurologic, musculoskeletal, abdominal, pelvic and oncologic protocols.

You must hold MR designation, be registered with CMRITO, and have BCLS certification; CAMRT membership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.
• MRT (MR) designation required.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
• Membership with CAMRT preferred.
• Cross-sectional anatomy, IV administration and contrast injection courses preferred.
• Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment; flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality diagnostic MR images and post-processing reformats.
• Commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
• Ensure patient and staff safety in the MR environment.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Communicate clearly with patients, visitors, staff and clinicians.
• Work independently and as part of a team to maximize scanner utilization.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot MR equipment; report issues promptly.
• Document MR exams accurately and maintain patient records.
• Adhere to department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in learner education and staff training.
• Take on cross-functional duties as assigned; handle multiple tasks.
