About the Role :

We are seeking highly motivated Mortgage Underwriters to manage mortgage deals, underwriting, and approval processes, contributing to the growth of our business. You will work alongside Mortgage Agents to help fund deals, advising and structuring deals to maximize returns, ensure timely responses, increase efficiency, and maintain compliance standards.

Requirements

A typical week includes :

• Providing advice and solutions tailored to clients' needs
• Completing and assessing mortgage applications, credit checks, searches, and underwriting requirements
• Ensuring applications meet compliance and lender guidelines
• Preparing Signature and Compliance packages
• Staying updated on processing requirements and following submission steps
• Coordinating with clients' lawyers and appraisers to meet closing dates
• Building relationships with lenders

Success in this role requires :

• Being a driven, organized self-starter, problem-solver, and effective communicator
• Having 3+ years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriter, preferably in a brokerage
• Proficiency with technology and working efficiently within a Mac-based environment using multiple software platforms
• Living within 45 minutes of our Yonge / Sheppard office
• Having a Mortgage License (required)
• Autonomy within small teams to make impactful decisions
• Team-based environment with peer-to-peer learning opportunities

Job Type : Full-time

Salary : $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year + bonus incentives

Schedule : 8-hour shifts
