The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Third Party Residential Underwriting, the Residential Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for rendering credit decisions on incoming applications within their authorized limits and with adherence to company and insurer policies and guidelines while focusing on service excellence. The Mortgage Underwriter has responsibility for applying due diligence when reviewing required documentation to ensure accuracy and to protect the Company from risk. Manage files from the time they are committed by the underwriter until all the broker’s conditions are met on the commitment.

In accordance with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), if a successful candidate is not already licensed, upon starting with First National, they will be registered for the applicable educational courses and upon successful completion of the exam, First National will register them with FSRA to complete the licensing process.
