The Opportunity

The Mortgage Specialist is responsible for retaining existing clients through renewals, early renewals, and saves.

How you will contribute:

  1. Handle all incoming calls regarding early renewals, maturing accounts, and discharge requests.
  2. Retain accounts discharging due to property switches or sales.
  3. Solicit to retain First National customers (inbound and outbound).
  4. Sell Mortgage Life Insurance and Home Warranty programs.
  5. Discuss early renewal requests for lower interest rates or debt consolidation.
  6. Utilize technology to aid the mortgage process.
  7. Maintain retention percentages.

The experience you need:

  1. Good communication skills on the phone and when interacting with internal departments and partners.
  2. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  4. Shift work may be required to support volume.
  5. Previous inbound/outbound sales experience.
  6. Knowledge of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures.
  7. Knowledge of mortgage and debt products for quality customer service.
  8. Must meet educational requirements for registration with FSRA and register within five days of employment.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  1. Periods of high volume with tight timelines.
  2. Long periods of sitting and stationary work.
  3. Repetitive movements using keyboard and mouse.
  4. Extended screen time.
  5. Multi-tasking involving calls and information lookup.
  6. Call centre environment with long calls and headset use.
