Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Montreal seeks a Mortgage Specialist to grow homefinancing opportunities through a strong referral network. You will guide clients through the mortgage process, provide product knowledge, and deliver exceptional service aligned with regulatory requirements.

In this role you will proactively develop partnerships, identify cross-sell opportunities, and manage end-to-end applications while staying compliant and focused on customer outcomes in a commission-based environment.

Qualifications

• Typically between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post‑secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In‑depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates, builds, and manages relationships with a referral network to build a pipeline of new mortgage business.
• Identifies sales opportunities and refers to BMO colleagues as appropriate.
• Develops and executes marketing and sales programs to drive business results.
• Guides customers throughout mortgage application and processing activities.
• Partners with branch teams to properly hand off customers and finalize mortgage documentation.
• Resolves or escalates issues to meet customer expectations and ensures funds are advanced in a timely manner.
