Job summary

Montessori Teachers College is seeking dedicated educators for in-person teaching roles in Calgary, Alberta. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

  • Monitor and assess children's progress and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues for special events and activities.

Experience / Certification
  • ECE Level 3 or 2
  • Montessori Trained Certified
  • PIC
  • First Aid (up to date)
  • Experience in working with children in childcare/classroom settings
  • Experience working with children with high needs (preferred, not required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood
Other Qualifications
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote active learning
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
Duties
  • Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans and activities for children (ages 2.5–6 yr)
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child, taking into account their unique needs and abilities
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and assess children’s progress, documenting observations and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate special events, field trips, and parent engagement activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all children
