Job summary

Clean Harbors Edmonton AB is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic to join our safety‑conscious team. This permanent full‑time role involves maintenance, inspections and repairs of the fleet at branch and client sites across the area, with up to 50% travel.

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm (10‑hour days), with potential to transition to seven days a week during travel or shutdowns. A Clean Drivers abstract is required during hiring.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician certification.
  • 3+ years' experience as Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
  • Experience with hydraulics and vacuum trucks is an asset.
  • Ability to use J Pro diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the priority by following safe work practices.
  • Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Complete and maintain warranty documentation.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn components as required.
  • Work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision.
  • Complete all required documentation, including daily Samsara logs.

Job description

Clean Harbors Edmonton AB is looking for a Licensed Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic to join their safety conscious team!

This ideal candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, inspections, and repairing of all company fleet at branch and client locations throughout the area. This is a permanent full-time position, travelling up to 50% of the time. Monday to Friday 6am-3:30pm, 10 hour days. This can transition into 7 days/week when traveling or working on shutdowns. Clean Drivers abstract will be required during the hiring process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete and follow all Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and various types of equipment.
  • Conduct routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Complete and maintain warranty documentation.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn, damaged, or defective components as required.
  • Work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision.
  • Complete all required documentation, including daily Samsara logs, accurately and in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician certification
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic.
  • Previous experience working with Hydraulics is an asset.
  • Previous experience working on Vacuum Trucks is an asset.
  • Ability to use (J Pro) diagnostic software
  • Class 5 Driver's License required with a clean drivers abstract.
