Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Laval, Quebec, is seeking a mobile equipment mechanic to join our evening shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Reporting to the team leader, you will maintain, repair and refurbish the fleet at multiple sites and collaborate with your teammates.

You should have a diploma in heavy equipment mechanics, and PEP certification is an asset. Independent, reliable, punctual with strong manual dexterity and teamwork will help you succeed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on mobile equipment (trucks, excavators, loaders, lifts, etc.).
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to schedules.
• Replace defective parts and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and in line with company standards.
• Occasional travel to support the Port of Quebec site.

Job Description

We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our team in Laval, Quebec, Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m to 2:00 a.m. Reporting to the team leader, the mobile equipment mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing the fleet, working at various sites and following up regularly with their team leader.

What you’re responsible for:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on mobile equipment (trucks, excavators, loaders, lifts, etc.);
• Perform visual inspections and carry out preventive maintenance according to schedules;
• Replace defective parts and make necessary repairs;
• Ensure that equipment operates safely and in accordance with company standards;
• Travel occasionally to support the team at the Port of Quebec site.

Qualifications

• You have a diploma in heavy equipment mechanics.
• You have PEP certification (an asset).
• You have experience with hydraulic systems (an asset).
