Job description

Job Description: Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

FSCA is currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. The Mobile Diesel Technician II will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, and diagnostics for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems. They can perform advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision and continue to develop technical skills. A successful technician complies with company policies and meets performance metrics.

DUTIES:
  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and more.
  3. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, using test instruments.
  4. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  5. Identify problems and evaluate information to determine appropriate solutions.
  6. Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
  7. Maintain and operate company vehicle, including safety checks and inspections.
  8. Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
  9. Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  10. Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Possess and supply necessary hand tools.
  3. Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
  4. Pass DOT-regulated background screening and physical; current DOT medical card preferred.
  5. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate regulations.
  6. Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year MVR review.

  • Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and exert physical effort.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to select appropriate tools and evaluate distances.
