Job summary

CRBCL is seeking one Miyo Mahcihowin (Good Health) Coordinator to work with Family Enhancement and Preservation Team. You will oversee and help develop healing programs for families and individuals, identifying risk factors and creating programming that promotes healing trauma from intergenerational and Indigenous perspectives.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills and a willingness to operate within Cowessess First Nation, SK.

Qualifications

• Degree in a Human Services field is required.
• 5+ years relevant experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with First Nations communities is preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, Adobe).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop healing programs for families and individuals within the Family Enhancement and Preservation Department.
• Identify risk factors and establish programming to promote healing from trauma including intergenerational trauma.
• Coordinate with volunteers, staff and artists to implement programs and events.

Position Summary

CRBCL is currently seeking one (1) Miyo Mahcihowin (Good Health) Coordinators to work with Family Enhancement and Preservation Team. This is an opportunity to work closely with children, youth and families. The Miyo Mahcihowin Coordinator will oversee and help develop all healing programs for families and individual clients within the Family Enhancement and Preservation Department by identifying risk factors and establishing programming that will promote healing trauma including intergenerational trauma, based on Indigenous and western perspectives.

This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication and a positive attitude to work within our progressive work culture that embraces the values and traditions of Cowessess First Nation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and exciting Canada wide initiative.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Degree in Human Services field
• 5+ years relevant experience, or a comparable combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
• Certified Life Skills Coach is an asset
• Experience in planning, organizing, and leading programs or events is crucial.
• Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of First Nations values, culture, traditions, and governance.
• An understanding of budgeting and financial management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills including significant attention to detail.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe.

• A passion for preserving and promoting First Nations teachings and traditions.

• Exceptional skills for maintaining efficiency and delegating tasks as needed.
• A positive and adaptable approach to problem solving.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region, as required.

The incumbent must provide a successful criminal background check with vulnerable sector search as well as be willing and able to commute to the CRBCL Head Office on a regular basis, which is located on Cowessess First Nation, SK.
