Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Relief Mixer (AM/PM) to support production at our Delta, BC facility. You will follow guidelines, prepare and operate the mixing area, and help maintain safety, quality, and GMP standards while collaborating with the production team.

Starting wages are $23.55/hr for Mixing and $21.67/hr for Production, with a Night Premium of $1.50/hr. Uniforms, safety shoes vouchers, extended health care after probation, and a union pension are provided.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail required for recipe accuracy and quality.
• Good communication with team and supervisors.
• Physically fit to lift 20–50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.
• Able to work 10.5 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Follow production guidelines, sheets, and recipes to produce high-quality cakes and desserts.
• Ensure SOPs are followed for all formulations and specs.
• Set up, prep, and keep mixing area clean and organized.
• Uphold BRC commitments for food safety and quality.
• Mix ingredient batches in exact accordance with the recipe.
• Provide batch output requirements to production team as needed.
• Collaborate to meet daily production yields and productivity targets.
• Keep paperwork in order and submitted on time.
• Maintain high quality and safety standards, adhering to GMPs and procedures.
• Keep area clean to prevent contamination or injury and prepare QA samples as needed.

We are looking for Relief Mixer (AM/PM).

Responsibilities & Duties

• Follow production guidelines specification sheets, task sheets, and recipes to produce high-quality cakes and desserts
• Ensure that standard operating procedures are followed for all recipe formulations and department specifications
• Set-up and preparation and cleanliness of the mixing area
• Uphold our BRC (British Retail Consortium) commitments to ensure the food safety and quality
• Mix ingredient batches in exact accordance with the recipe formulation and specifications.
• Supply production team with batch output requirements on a timely, as needed basis.
• Work as a team to achieve daily production yields, efficiency, and productivity targets.
• Ensure all paperwork is kept in order, completed properly, and submitted on time.
• Maintain the highest quality & safety standards, adhering to all GMPs, Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure the area is always kept clean and tidy, to prevent potential contamination and/or injury.
• Prepare QA samples and documentation as needed.

Job Requirements

• Working AM / PM shift (AM Shift: start times will vary daily between 12 am - 11:45 am)(PM Shift: start times will vary daily between 11:45am - 12am)
• Experience in food manufacturing is an asset
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Be able to work quickly, under pressure, and have a sense of urgency
• Strong communication skills
• Physically fit - the ability to lift and push heavy items (20-50 lbs)
• Understanding of weights & measures
• Ability to work 10.5 hour shifts
• Could work independently and with minimal directionThis position works in production when not working in mixing.

Schedule

• Shifts are scheduled Monday through Saturday and 10.5 hours in length
• Schedules are posted 2 weeks in advance
• AM shift (start times will vary every day between 12am - 10:45 am)
• PM Shift (start times will vary every day between 11 am - 11:45 pm)
• Example:
  • (For a PM shift if we schedule you at 2:15 PM your shift will end at 12:45 AM)
  • (For an AM shift if we schedule you at 4:00 AM your shift will end at 2:30 AM)
