Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada in Ottawa is seeking a Systems Engineering Analyst to provide on-site engineering support for airborne mission systems. You will collaborate with customers and operational teams in a secure environment to analyze requirements and resolve issues.

The role emphasizes problem solving, documentation, and hands-on maintenance, with responsibility for technical investigations, status reporting, and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience
• Experience in defence, aviation, electronic warfare, or mission systems

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site engineering support for operational systems, including electronic warfare and mission support environments
• Diagnose complex failure conditions and perform on-site repair and modifications
• Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor calibrations, backups, and parts
• Lead and support technical investigations related to system, software, subsystem, equipment, and facility issues
• Prepare status materials and conduct regular status meetings with stakeholders and customer teams
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to support personnel
• Analyze requirements and contribute to verification planning and system validation
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across systems, software, test, and program stakeholders
• Identify risks, communicate status, and propose practical solutions for readiness
