Job summary

Position:

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools is seeking substitute teachers holding, or in the process of obtaining, a Developmental Teacher Certificate through Alberta Education and Childcare to sub in St. Albert, Morinville and Legal.

This new expedited certification pathway, launched by the Government of Alberta for the 2026/27 school year, allows final-year Bachelor of Education students to teach kindergarten to Grade 12 while completing their degree. It's designed for candidates who plan to pursue a teaching career and want real classroom experience before graduation.

Qualifications & Duties:

• Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
• Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
• Enrolled in the final year of an Alberta B.Ed. program (4th year of a 4-year degree, or 2nd year of a 2-year after-degree program)
• Holds an Interim Professional Certificate application in progress or approved through TWINS
• Meets Alberta Education's pre-certification course requirements (Teaching Quality Standard, Code of Professional Conduct for Teachers and Teacher Leaders)
• Computer literacy (Macintosh) would be an asset.
• Committed to working collaboratively with a team.
• Willingness to be an active collaborator on a vibrant school staff team and program.
