Job summary

Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools seeks substitute teachers who hold or are pursuing a Developmental Teacher Certificate through Alberta Education and Childcare. Substituting will occur in St. Albert, Morinville, and Legal, supported by an expedited pathway to allow final-year B.Ed. students to teach across kindergarten to Grade 12 while completing their degree.

The program, launched for 2026/27, targets candidates aiming for a teaching career with real classroom experience before graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be in final year of Alberta B.Ed. program or pursuing expedited certification pathway.
• Interim Professional Certificate in progress or approved through TWINS.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in classrooms across multiple wards (St. Albert, Morinville, Legal).
• Engage with students and support learning during absence of regular teachers.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to Teaching Quality Standards.
