The Louis Riel School Division is seeking an itinerant Ojibwe/Cree Language Support Instructor to assist in Ojibwe/Cree language programming across the division.

The role involves working with the Indigenous Education team and classroom teachers to enhance language and cultural programming and provide staff development. The position supports the Division's Multi-Year Strategic Plan and equity goals.

Qualifications

  • Highschool graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
  • Related post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, students, and organizations.
  • Intermediate to bilingual in Ojibwe or Cree.
  • Knowledge of traditional Indigenous teachings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities
