ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

West Lynn Heights is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school with 235 students located in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, approximately 3½ hours by vehicle northwest of Thompson, Manitoba. The area's natural beauty provides for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Fluency in the Cree language both written and oral
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Familiarity with the Kindergarten to Grade 12 Aboriginal Languages and Culture: Manitoba Curriculum Framework of Outcomes
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
