Job summary

North American Construction Group is seeking experienced Hydraulic Shovel Operators for the Fort Hills site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role requires operating large Hitachi shovels in a mining environment with a strong emphasis on safety and ongoing career growth.

The successful candidates will have a valid license, required certifications, and be prepared for 14x7 rotations with 12-hour shifts, camp accommodations, and flights provided.

Qualifications

• Experience operating 2500, 3600, and 5500 Front-Loading Hitachi Shovels in a mining setting.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in mining operations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing (breath alcohol, urine drug, fitness-to-work, audiometric, vision, background check).

North American Construction Group is seeking experienced Hydraulic Shovel Operators to join their team at the Fort Hills mining site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The ideal candidates will have significant experience operating large Hitachi shovels in a mining environment and be committed to maintaining high safety standards.

What You’ll Need

• Minimum 2 years' experience operating 2500, 3600, and 5500 Front-Loading Hitachi Shovels
• At least 2 years' experience in a mining environment
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and recent acceptable Driver's Abstract
• Valid CSO or BSO Certification (Energy Safety Canada)
• Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness, H2S Awareness, Field Ergonomics (all Energy Safety Canada)
• High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol, Urine Drug, Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment, Audiometric, Vision Screening, Criminal Record Check
• Willingness to join IUOE Local 955
