Job summary

Kichton Construction LP is seeking experienced Shovel Operators to join their team at the Suncor Basemine near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role operates a 5600 shovel in an active oil sands mining environment, loading muskeg into large haul trucks on a 14/7 rotation.

The ideal candidates have a strong safety mindset, relevant experience, and a commitment to teamwork and operational excellence. Camp or LOA + transportation provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating a 5600 shovel in mining, construction or oil sands.
• Ability to load muskeg into 789-930 haul trucks.
• Able to work day and night shifts, overtime, and outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong understanding of mine traffic rules, equipment blind spots and safe operations.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test and mask fit test.

Responsibilities

Kichton Construction LP is seeking experienced Shovel Operators to join their team at the Suncor Basemine near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role involves operating a 5600 shovel in an active oil sands mining environment, loading muskeg into large haul trucks, and working a 14/7 rotation. The ideal candidates will have a strong safety mindset, relevant experience, and a commitment to teamwork and operational excellence.

What You’ll Need
